Our History
Mufakose High 1 was established in 1970 a government School catering for Mufakose high density residential suburbs which had also been established in 1959-1962.
It was meant to carter for primary schools in Mufakose, Rugare and Kambuzuma. In 1988, Mufakose 1 High School was offered Advanced level status.
Since the establishment of our school we have had 9 principals which are listed below in sequential order:

The school Mottto is "Achieving academic and socio-cultural excellence through hard work. Mufakose 1 High is a co-education and a government school.It offers day-school facilities only. The school attracts students from the followers residental areas.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS
In 2012, the school had the best A level results in the Province among government and council run schools. In the same year, it recorded its best O level results since 1973. At the 2010 to 2012 District merit awards, the school scooped 30% of all the prices on offer. This was indeed a feat of achievement.
In 2012, the school was selected out of the 85 secondary schools in the province to receive the secretary"s award. This was the first time to receive the prestigious award after waiting for 43 years.
